5 Must-Have Foods to add to your Diet!

 Like Superman, some foods are life savers. Superfoods are generally plant-based dietary items that have an exceptional density of nutrients and provide a variety of health advantages. Cabbage or Karam Sang (a.k.a. Kale), broccoli, avocados, and spinach, for example, are some such superfoods that are commonly known.

Here are some superfoods known to only a handful of the population:

Chia Seeds    

These tiny seeds are loaded with not only minerals but also antioxidants, omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, and protein. Weight loss and a lower risk of heart disease are two of the health advantages. They are quite simple to include in your diet because of their bland taste.   


The popular quinoa is a whole grain rich in fiber and protein. They include vitamins and antioxidants in addition to minerals, which may offer protection from several chronic diseases. They go well in tacos, salads, grits, and soups.  

Moringa Seeds  

Obtained from the Shingu or the Seeng Tree (drumstick tree). This tree is also known as the Horseradish tree, and its seeds are a powerhouse of antioxidants. They promote healthy skin, lower cholesterol, reduce joint pain and regulate blood sugar levels. Add them to your soups, sauces, or muffin mixes, and enjoy all the benefits!  

Goji Berries    

These berries are also called as Wolfberries. They also have an Indian alternative which is Amla or the Indian Gooseberry. Gogi berries are little wonders contain phytochemicals like polysaccharides, beta-carotene, and zeaxanthin that help improve immune function. Brew them in your tea or have them as juice! As health isn't a goal rather it’s a way of life. It's never too late for self-care !      

And of course, MAKHANAS (a.k.a Roasted Makhana)       

Adding Makhanas or the lotus seeds to your diet can help you get better sleep, improve digestion, and reduce the risk of heart disease. It’s also believed to have anti-ageing properties and improve fertility. They are rapidly becoming a popular snack.
